AIGA Get Out the Vote: Empowering the Women’s Vote

Artist Statement: Recently, I've realized that women need to support women in their communities as much as possible. Every woman's voice should be heard, and the best way for a woman to speak her mind is through her vote.
The phrase, "a vote from you is a vote for her," directly addresses women. The poster informs them that voting will encourage other women in their community to visit the polls and that voting is one of the ways they can invoke change for the benefit of other women.
No matter what our differences are, whether they are physical differences, differences in sexuality, and differences in political affiliation, women should stand together this election and make our voices heard through our vote. To represent this diverse group, I use a rainbow color palette, and I include simplified portraits of women of many different backgrounds. I want to disclose that these portraits are not representative of every single nationality or sexuality; they are a sample of the many people that make America the unique melting pot it is.
Women should work together this year and make their voices heard, not just from them but the women around them. The women's vote has a ripple effect: if one woman goes to the polls, some of her friends will as well. "A Vote from You is a Vote for her" embodies this ripple effect because the poster shows all the different kinds of women you are affecting when you go to the polls.
