AIGA Get Out the Vote: Empowering the Women’s Vote
Submitted By: Alicia Cheng
AIGA Chapter: New York
Artist Statement: The history of suffrage in the United States is a checkered and indirect journey. Rather than a steady march towards emancipation, our democracy lurched forward, sideways and often backwards in an effort to reconcile our ideals with social equality. This poster emphasizes that while the 19th amendment was a significant achievement, there is still a long road ahead.
